The Data Centre World exhibition, dedicated to the world of data centres, will open its doors on 15 and 16 November 2023 at Paris Porte de Versailles. Companies in the DEF network, including DEF TTD (Transport – Telecom – Defence), specialising in fire safety, will be key players at this event.

The DEF network, renowned for its expertise in fire safety, will be focusing on fire protection for data centres. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the latest advances and tailor-made solutions to meet the specific challenges of fire safety and data protection.

Stand H115, which brings together the companies in the DEF Network, will be the meeting point for all those wishing to find out more about fire safety for data centres. Companies from the DEF network will be on hand to discuss best practice and present cutting-edge technological solutions to ensure the protection of sensitive data.

FireMob and PROFOG, two companies specialising in fire protection, will also be on stand H115 to share their expertise.

On Tuesday 12 September, our Chairman Philippe Lecuyer received the EY Ile de France Entrepreneur of the Year award.

The award recognises his exceptional career, the constant growth of the DEF network in France and internationally, and our sustainable business model.

Like all the evening’s winners, this prize also illustrates an exemplary French entrepreneurial success story.

Philippe Lecuyer’s career path and the development of the DEF Network elicited many questions during the cocktail reception, particularly from young entrepreneurs keen to gain a better understanding of the unique collaborative way in which our Network operates.

Philippe Lecuyer and the DEF Network will be competing for the national EY awards, which will be announced on 16 October.

Last year, DEF Ouest organized the first “Carrefour de la Sécurité” at the Centaure in Rennes: a new kind of event, meant to promote the expertise of the DEF Network through introductory workshops led by our fire safety experts, combined with real-life demonstrations of water-spray and foam extinguishing.

In view of the interest aroused by that first edition, DEF Ouest is repeating the experience this year on 10 and 11 October, this time in Saint-Herblain, close to Nantes. On that occasion, attendees will be given the opportunity to participate in fun, interactive workshops on temporary detection solutions, special risks, emergency PA systems and gas extinguishing. They will also have the chance to watch real-life demonstrations of electrical cabinet protection systems. In addition, two members of CNPP (National Centre for Prevention and Protection) will be present throughout those two days, for discussions and to answer questions!

The leading maritime exhibition, Pacific 2019, will be taking place in Sydney from 8 to 10 October. It will attract the main actors involved in merchant marines, coastal services, the maritime industry and national defence, as well as military and government decision-makers from across the globe. DEF Marine’s teams will be in attendance for this 11^th edition to support their partner Naval Group and discuss on-board fire detection and extinguishing projects. They will take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their expertise in activating and maintaining maritime systems and to boost the DEF Network’s visibility among the different actors around the world working in this specific sector. Enriching discussions and terrific opportunities are on the horizon for the DEF Network’s dedicated maritime fire safety company!

DEF West Africa is now online! Continuing DEF Network’s digital transformation strategy, the DEF’s 21st new website was put online for DEF West Africa, the expert in fire safety solutions on the African market. A new DEF Transport Telecoms Defence agency opened on 23 January in Tremblay-en-France. The goal is to promote closer relations with clients in the northern Paris region so as to facilitate project monitoring. The team will also be able to accept clients for training.

Continuing DEF Network’s digital transformation strategy, the DEF’s 20th new website was put online for DigiSys, the expert in video surveillance management solutions for DEF Network. Based in Toulon and created by 2 engineers: Philippe Dalsass and Laurent Meunier. DigiSys outfits a large part of the Auchan stores in France with their video surveillance solutions. It is also the first company in Europe to offer video monitoring software capable of detecting intruders.

This new multi-purpose enclosure, located in Nanterre, at the foot of the Great Arch of La Défense was opened on 16th October 2017. With a surface area of 10,000 m², it is the second largest entertainment stadium in the world, and even welcomed the Rolling Stones for a series of 3 concerts on 19th, 22nd and 25th October last year. It is also the home stadium for Racing 92, the Ile de France rugby team that plays in the Top 14 and will also host the gymnastics events for the Paris 2024 Olympic games. This ambitious project, getting its name from its U shape, took almost 4 years to complete.

Through the company called Alligator, the DEF Network was chosen to take charge of the “emergency exit” part: the nerve centre of such a large site which can hold audiences of up to 40,000. This was great recognition for our expertise in the matter.

Set up in June 2017, Firemob is a company in the DEF Network that offers provisional fire detection on work sites, particularly a new turnkey solution: Fire Temp, an all-inclusive and monthly service contract that guarantees an optimum safety level quite simply for customers.

Convinced by the suitability of this new product, Céleste de Chalus, Director General of Firemob, signed Fire Temp up for the 12th Security Trophies that rewards innovations in the field of security and safety every year.

Céleste de Chalus, who was hoping to give this new product some visibility by taking part in this competition, was delighted to be invited up on to the stage to receive her Bronze trophy, in the “Transient Solutions” category, before an audience of many important names from the world of security.

This success reflects the level of requirement for solutions that the DEF Network developss and offers to its customers in the fire safety market.
