Maintenance of fire safety systems (FSS)
A fire safety system (FSS) is useless if it is not fully functional at all times. If you don't maintain your equipment regularly, you're taking a major risk to the safety of people and property.
Compulsory and necessary maintenance
to ensure the long-term future of your facilities
and ensure their optimum efficiency
Legal obligations
The maintenance of a fire safety system (FSS) consists of testing and maintaining all the components of a fire safety installation from its commissioning to its upgrade: fire control panel, smoke detectors, automatic extinguishing, safety sound system, mechanical smoke extraction, emergency exit management, etc.
Mandatory, it is governed by the NFS 61-933 standard and more specifically by Article 7.
A range of maintenance services
Preventive
Preventive maintenance
This is the only maintenance regulated by standard NFS 61-933. It is compulsory up to twice a year. This involves not only maintaining the equipment, but above all testing all the components of the fire safety system. The technician must be APSAD-certified and follow a precise and comprehensive mission protocol.
Palliative
Palliative maintenance
Also known as on-call or telephone maintenance, this involves intervening within a predetermined period when a fault or failure is reported. For example, if a public building is open 24 hours a day, the technician must be able to intervene 24 hours a day.
Corrective and curative
Corrective and remedial maintenance
The technician intervenes on site to repair a fault (curative maintenance). If he it is unable to repair the damage immediately, he implements compensatory measures to protect the building while awaiting repairs (corrective maintenance).
Provisional and conditional
Predictive and conditional maintenance
Predictive maintenance involves identifying in advance the equipment to be replaced. For example, smoke detector batteries must be changed every four years. Conditional maintenance consists of identifying faulty equipment that needs to be replaced in the near future. For example, a clogged smoke detector would be less effective.
Upgrade
Upgrade maintenance
As the name implies, upgrade maintenance involves making the system perform better or better adapted to a given situation.

What's the difference between a service contract
and a maintenance contract?
The maintenance contract consists of a visual check that the equipment is working properly. This check does not comply with the requirements of standard NFS 61-933, as it does not include testing of all the equipment.
The maintenance contract includes all the services described above. It is supported by detailed maintenance schedules to help you control your budget.
